It is now official that Marian Rivera will be playing the popular pinay superhero role Darna in its return to primetime schedule of GMA-7. Wilma Galvante, GMA-7′s SVP for Entertainment surprised the young actress.

A long list of previous actresses have already played this role: Rosa del Rosario, Liza Moreno, Eva Montes, Gina Pareño, Vilma Santos, Rio Locsin, Lorna Tolentino, Nanette Medved, Anjanette Abayari, and Angel Locsin.

Now we all wonder, will she be single in this new project or will she have a new love team in this new project.

“Parang ang pangit naman kung si Ding Dong Dantes pa din, sakto na name wala na palit palit.”

“Ding ang bato!”

Sa sobrang gwapo, macho at malaking… pagkatao (the height mga bakla! haha!) ni Papa Ding, eh parang ang pangit siya pa magbibigay ng malulunok ni Marian Rivera.

Or we all wondering with the previous commercial/plug of GMA 7 with the appearance of Captain Barbel, maybe the two again will meet in this scene.

With the upcoming end of “Ang Babeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang”, will Marian Rivera be able to do the task or even surpass the previous versions of Darna. We will find out soon.
