Sendai, Japan suffered a brutal two disaster hitting them both at the same time. The epicenter of the 8.9 magnitude was just so deep and it was said that the Japanese survived it but not the Tsunami followed after. Wave, after wave that kept hitting Japan that destroyed a lot of structures and buildings.

The cause of the Tsunami was said relevant to the 8.9 magnitude earthquake.

A massive quake hits Japan at 2:46pm, March 11. 2011. The Japanese television has shown major tsunami damage in northern Japan, cause by the 8.9 magnitude earthquake.

Japan was struck by a magnitude 8.8 earthquake off its northeastern coast, shaking buildings in Tokyo for several minutes. The 8.9 magnitude quake struck at a depth of 10km, about 125km off the eastern coast, the meteorological agency said. The area is 380km northeast of Tokyo.

In downtown Tokyo, large buildings shook violently and workers poured into the street for safety. TV footage showed a large building on fire and bellowing smoke in the Odaiba district of Tokyo.

Police and coast guard officials said they were assessing possible damage from the quake.

According to CNN metereologist Ivan Cabrera, “A tsunami in the Pacific was moving closer to other shorelines in other countries”

A day earlier, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck off of Honshu, the country’s meteorological agency said.
